About me

August 11, 2007

My name is Mercedes Moss and I have successfully taught vocal techniques to gospel bands, worship teams, choirs and soloists since 1999. My course is results driven and I have seen some good results in my students some of which are health related. For example, I have taught two asthmatics who reported being able to breathe with greater ease during singing (this means that their airways had expanded due to the breathing exercises).
Here are some of the benefits that I aim for my students to experience. They learn:
* breathing exercises that help them to sustain their singing, control the escape of air from the lungs, beautify the tone of the voice among others.
* techniques for resonance that make the voice clear, improve its tonal quality and enhance its unique and distinct sound.
* techniques that eliminate throat tightness and other poor vocal sounds.
* about the breathing apparatus and how it applies to singing.
* exercises that extend the vocal range
* to sing effortlessly

One of my overall aims is to help students to develop a keen ear for vocal sounds and to know exactly which techniques they should use to troubleshoot vocal difficulties. Theory and practice are interrelated in a learning environment designed to set the learner at ease and build confidence.
